What “personal color” means in Korea
Personal color is a system, popular in Korea, that groups people by the colors that flatter their skin, eyes and hair. The four common groups are spring warm, summer cool, autumn warm and winter cool. Each group has a palette of clothes, makeup and hair shades. Hair color is one part of it.
The system is a guide, not a science. Two analysts can reach different results, and many people sit between types. Treat it as a way to narrow choices, not as a rule.
Warm and cool in hair terms
- Warm skin: hair shades with golden, copper or caramel notes are often chosen, such as warm brown or milk tea brown.
- Cool skin: ash, cool brown or a deep, neutral black are often chosen, such as ash brown.
- Light or bright coloring: softer, lighter shades are common.
