Korean Haircut Styles for Men
The most common Korean men’s haircuts are the two-block cut, the dandy cut and comma hair, often paired with a perm. At WENEED Seomyeon Lotte a men’s cut is ₩33,000, a sculpted cut is ₩58,000 and a cut with a down perm is ₩48,800 – ₩53,000.

Four looks and what they mean
- Two-block cut (투블럭): the sides and back are cut short and the top is left longer, with a clear step between them. It is easy to grow out and works with or without a perm.
- Dandy cut (댄디컷): a neat, shorter-all-over style with a side part or a gentle fringe. It is a common choice for a work look.
- Comma hair (쉼표머리): bangs with a curved, comma-like bend over the forehead. It usually needs a perm or heat styling to keep the curve.
- Textured or soft perm looks: loose waves on top with tidy sides, set by a perm and a cut together.
The names are not exact. Two designers may picture slightly different things under the same name, so a photo from the front, side and back is the safest way to ask.
Cut only, or cut plus perm?
A cut sets the shape, and a perm sets how it behaves between visits. Think about your morning:
- You style with a dryer and a little wax: a good cut may be enough.
- Your hair is flat, or the sides push out: a perm or a down perm may save time every day.
- You want a curve or wave on top: a perm is the usual route.
Straight, thick hair tends to resist a soft wave, and fine hair can look limp. The designer decides the perm type after seeing your hair.

How to describe it
Use centimeters or point at your head: “2 cm on the sides, long on top, fringe to the eyebrows.” Say how you style (dryer only, wax, nothing). Mention a cowlick, a receding hairline or very thick hair, since each changes how the cut should be built. The guide to explaining your hairstyle has phrases and a photo checklist.
Upkeep: how long a shape lasts
Short sides grow out faster in how they look than longer tops do. A two-block or dandy cut with tight sides often needs a tidy-up every few weeks to keep its outline, while longer styles can go longer between visits. This is a general pattern, and the designer can give you a sensible interval for your hair and your job.
A perm adds a second timeline. The waves relax and grow out slowly, and the cut part keeps changing as the hair grows. After a perm, many people dry the hair with the fingers and a little product instead of brushing it, since a brush can pull the wave straight. Ask your designer how to dry and style your own hair type.
If you are visiting Busan for a short stay, say so. A designer can choose a shape that still looks tidy as it grows out over the next weeks. Our men’s perm guide covers perm types and aftercare.

Questions guests ask
What is a two-block cut?
It is a cut with short sides and back and a longer top, with a visible step between them. It is one of the most requested Korean men’s styles.
What is comma hair?
It is a fringe with a curve that bends over the forehead like a comma. It normally needs a perm or heat styling to hold.
Do I need a perm for a Korean men’s style?
Not always. A good cut and a dryer may be enough, and a perm helps if you want shape without daily styling.
How much is a men’s cut with a down perm at WENEED Seomyeon Lotte?
It is ₩48,800 – ₩53,000 depending on the designer. A down perm helps sides and back sit flatter.
